Use & Relationship
To provide Engineering Documentation Product Drawings, Sanitized, to support prototype and limited production of equipment and systems. The drawings shall be used to support the maintenance, repair, spare procurement, training, testing, and configuration baseline of the equipment and system acquired.
For purposes of this DID, “sanitized” is defined as the removal of any ties to the government from the submitted deliverable documentation package.
This DID contains suggested guidance for format and content preparation instructions of the Engineering Documentation Product Drawings resulting from the work task described in the contract SOW.
It is not intended that the recommendations contained herein should be applied to every program. This DID should be tailored to the minimum data requirements of the applicable contract.
Preparation Instructions
1Reference Documents.The applicable issue of the documents and procedure cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revision shall be as stated herein. The ASME Standard, Y14.100-2013, Engineering Drawing Practices, is available through the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (http://www.asme.org). Further guidance can be obtained through the National Security Agency, Acquisition Logistics and Deployment Review, 9800 Savage Road, Suite 6129, Fort Meade, MD 20755-6129, Attn: B-023.
2General.Drawings shall meet either the ASME Y14.100-2013 Standard or best business practices, as defined by the customer's engineering drawing and documentation resources.
3Format and Content.The following shall be noted on the drawing:
3.1Each separate type of drawing in the system shall contain a drawing reference number.
3.2Unclassified System Name and/or Rack Name shall be shown.
3.3Date and Drafter point of contact information.
3.4Each drawing shall be labeled with a general description (e.g., Rack Elevation, Interconnect Diagram, Cabling List, Power, Parts List, etc).
3.5Number of sheets shall be shown (Sheet X of X on first sheet and individual sheet number on continuing sheets).
3.6Page Size (ex: A-size, B-size, D-size, etc.).
3.7Front and back of rack shown.
3.8Each part in the rack shall be identified (Manufacturer, Part Number, etc.).
3.9Location of equipment in rack (unit numbering method or location numbering method).
3.10Open or blank spaces in racks shall be identified.
