Description & Purpose

3.1 The Government Furnished Inspection Equipment Maintenance Report provides data on Government furnished inspection equipment (GFIE) maintenance activities of the contractor and his field personnel.

Application & Interrelationship

7.1 This DID contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement for this data included in the contract.

7.2 This DID is used to report contractor maintenance actions to keep GFIE in satisfactory condition.

Preparation Instructions

10.1Contract.This data item is generated by the contract which contains a specific and discrete work task to develop this data product.
10.2Content and format.The Government Furnished Inspection Equipment Maintenance Report shall be in contractor's format and contain the following:
10.2.1Name and serial number of GFIE repaired or adjusted.
10.2.2Symptoms indicating malfunctions.
10.2.3Engineering evaluation of cause of malfunction or part failure.
10.2.4Corrective action(s) required to correct malfunction.
10.2.5Parts replaced (if any) to correct the malfunction.Reference part to manual (if possible); otherwise, describe part for proper identification.
