Description & Purpose
3.1 The notification provides shipment verification for repaired materiel being returned to the Government.
3.2 This notification enables the Government to verify shipment of repaired Government materiel and assure continuity of property accountability audit trail.
Application & Interrelationship
7.1 This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement for this data included in the contract.
7.2 This DID is applicable to all contracts for repair of Government materiel.
Preparation Instructions
10.1Format.The format shall be 80 column Electronic Accounting Machine (EAM) cards.
10.2Content.Following are the card instructions.
10.2.1Item 1 - DOCUMENT IDENTIFIER CODE (CC 1-3).Code which identifies the purpose of this transaction and the system to which it pertains. Constant "BZD".
10.2.2Item 2 - ROUTING IDENTIFIER CODE (CC 4-6).Routing Identifier Code (RIC) identifying the address of the Accountable Supply Distribution Activity (ASDA) to which this document shall be forwarded. To be specified in the contract.
10.2.3Item 3 - BLANK (CC 7).
10.2.4Item 4 - NATIONAL STOCK NUMBER (CC 8-22).13-digit NSN of the item being shipped. Do not zero fill.
10.2.5Item 5 - UNIT OF ISSUE (CC 23-24).The 2-position alphabetic abbreviation expressing a determinate quantity of an item that will be issued by which accountable records are maintained. To be specified on original shipping document.
10.2.6Item 6 - QUANTITY (CC 25-29).Enter the quantity shipped. Right justified. Zero filled (e.g., 00010).
10.2.7Item 7 - DOCUMENT NUMBER (CC 30-43).Enter the document number under which this item was received.
10.2.8Item 8 - SUFFIX CODE (CC 44).When a partial quantity is shipped, it shall be documented by assignment of a sequential suffix code which relates and identifies this shipment to the original document. A-Z and 2-9 may be utilized, excluding I, N, O, P, R, S, Y, or Z (e.g., W52H097060H226A).
10.2.9Item 9 - DOD ACTIVITY ADDRESS CODE (CC 45-50).Assigned 6-position Department of Defense activity address code (DODAAC) specified in the contract which authorizes the contractor to receive or ship Government materiel. To be specified in the contract.
10.2.10Item 10 - SIGNAL CODE (CC 51).Constant "H" designates the field containing DODAAC of the shipping activity.
10.2.11Item 11 - FUND CODE (CC 52-53).Code specifying that transaction is nonreimbursable. Constant "GM".
10.2.12Item 12 - BLANK (CC 54-56).
10.2.13Item 13 - DATE SHIPPED (CC 57-59).Enter the Julian day the materiel is shipped. Example: 1 Jan shall be written as 001; 31 Dec as 365.
10.2.14Item 14 - BLANK (CC 60-61).
10.2.15Item 15 - BILL NUMBER (CC 62-76).Enter the appropriate Transportation Control Number (TCN) or other transportation number of the shipment. Left justified. May contain blanks (e.g., 2501R70136134XX).
10.2.16Item 16 - MODE OF SHIPMENT (CC 77).Enter appropriate code from the following:
A Motor, truckload
B Motor, less than truckload
C Van (unpacked, uncrated personal or Government property)
D Driveaway, truckaway, towaway
E Bus
F Military Airlift Command (MAC)
G Surface parcel post
H Air parcel post
I Government trucks, for shipment outside local delivery area
