Description & Purpose
The program evaluation and review technique (PERT)/TIME Analysis Report is used by the Government to evaluate the progress of contracts which include requirements for PERT Master and Work Package Networks.
Application & Interrelationship
This data item description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement as delineated in the contract.
The report supplements requirements for the PERT/TIME Management Information System as applicable to contracts covering complex development or other one-time projects or programs of substantial dollar value.
This report relates to the overall outlook of the PERT/TIME network events, problem areas and corrective action.
This DID is related to DI-MGMT-80505, PERT/TIME Network Diagram.
This DID supersedes DI-A-5614.
Preparation Instructions
10.1Format.This report shall be prepared in contractor's format on 8 1/2 X 11 inch or the metric size A4 paper and may be supplemented by graphs to highlight trends, developments and factors.
10.2Content.The report shall contain the following:
10.2.1Outlook.The outlook section shall:
10.2.1.1Describe the results of the analysis of the PERT/TIME diagram in relation to the current target or scheduled dates for end objectives (e.g., completion of design, tests, and shipments) and also in relation to previous outlooks.
10.2.1.2Cite and identify the major differences between the current and preceding outlook.
10.2.1.3Include an analysis of important intermediate program objectives which precede the terminal target.
10.2.2Problem Areas and Corrective Action.All major problem areas disclosed by analysis of the critical path and slack sorts shall be identified to the network and the action taken or proposed solutions reported. This section shall cover actions that the contractor is taking to avoid slippages and recommendations for Government action. These shall include proposed changes in plans which, if approved, will be reflected in the next PERT Network, changes in resource (manpower, money) application and possible additional resource authorizations required to achieve timely completion. Problems reported previously shall be carried forward until rectified.
