The Inertia (Mass Properties) Report for Aircraft provides up-to-date information required to maintain cognizance of deleterious trends which may require program office action, provide data for use by various engineering activities, and provide safety of flight information to the field.
a. This Data Item Description (DID) interrelates with DI-MGMT-81452, Mass Properties Control and Management Process Report.
b. This DID contains the format, content, and intended use information, for the data deliverable resulting from the work tasks described in the contract.
c. DI-MGMT-81504A supersedes DI-MGMT-81504.
Preparation Instructions
1Reference documents.The applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as cited in the contract.
2Format.The contractor's format is acceptable.
3Content.The Inertial Loads Report shall specify the calculated inertia loads, including results of weight and balance analyses, moments of inertia, and distribution of inertia loads, shears, and moments for unit linear and angular accelerations. The data in this report shall correspond to an Estimated, Calculated, or Actual Weight Report. Inertia Loads Report shall include:
3.1Contract number, aircraft designation, acquisition activity and contractor identification or serial numbers, as appropriate, of the aircraft for which the data in the report is considered to be representative.
3.2Identification of the weight report with which the inertia data is identified.
3.3A table summarizing the weight, center of gravity (c.g.) and moment of inertia data for weight empty and all weight conditions covered in the report identified in b. above.
3.4Dimensional data suitability illustrated, locating the aircraft axes (references and principle) and Mean Aerodynamic Chord (MAC).Sign convention suitably illustrated.
3.5Detailed data used for flutter analysis, flying quality analysis, and other analysis.This may be panel point data.
