Use & Relationship
The Facilities Requirements Data (FRD) development process for typical shore-based and shipboard sites delineates facilities criteria and the proper capture/storage of data related to weapon systems, program office, RDT&E, training, operational, deployment site, maintenance, aviation ship integration (if applicable) and support equipment facilities requirements.
The FRD defines platform-specific criteria/data, independent of any current or planned facilities. Responses to FRD questions may be part of an iterative process as program technology matures and contractor responses to requirements are updated. All facilities requirements data within the FRD template/submittal shall be provided as a deliverable to the Government as prescribed within the appropriate CDRL.
This Data Item Description (DID) contains the content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement, as delineated in the contract.
Reference documents: The applicable issue of the document - including its approval date and dates of applicable revisions and changes-shall be as specified in the contract.
This DID supersedes DI-MGMT-81825C.

3.1Item 1, Pre-Award Facilities Requirements Data.Pre-award data identifies any major facilities requirements that should be considered during the material solution analysis process. The data is quantitative in nature and correlates to a common template of questions related to the weapon system. This includes, but is not limited to, platform/aircraft description, platform/aircraft handling Platform/aircraft servicing, and specifications.
3.2Item 2, Post-Award Facilities Requirement Data.Post-award data details the weapon system's requirements with respect to ship and shore facilities such as weight, dimensions, HAZMAT, environment, security, etc. Requirements Data correlates to the program-specific requirement questions/template, and it includes any tables and graphical illustrations that support the quantitative system dimensions.
