This DID will be used for each instance when the contractor chooses, to install "an equal component" in lieu of the component that is specified by the Work Item.

This DID contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement as delineated in the contract.

Preparation Instructions

1Format.The report shall be in the contractor's format.

2Content.The report shall provide data to compare the equal component to that specified including the following:

2.1Name and hull number of ship

2.2Job Order

2.3Work Item

2.4Paragraph numbers including standard item paragraph number

2.5Physical dimensions of each

2.6Bolting pattern required to install the component

2.7Power requirements

2.8Size, location, and type of miscellaneous service connections

2.9Modifications required for installation

2.10Results from the comparison of the characteristics, i.e., gallons per minute, cubic feet per minute, and temperature range
