The NPSI dataset contains the combination of refined source data, metadata descriptions, and data license information.
The purpose of the NPSI is to provide maximum database reuse across Type/Model/Series platforms to lower the life cycle cost of out-the-window visual terrain, 3-D models, and sensor databases, along with dataset archive capability, and short-notice distribution services.
This DID contains the format, content, and intended use information for a NPSI data deliverable invoked by a solicitation.
Preparation Instructions
1Reference documents.The applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.

2Format.The contractor's format is acceptable.
2.1NPSI Final Dataset shall be in the formats and structure defined in reference (a) section 4.1.
2.2NPSI Interim Dataset shall be in formats and structure defined in reference (a) section 4.3.
2.3NPSI Metadata shall be in XML format that validates against the NPSI schema defined in reference (b).
2.4Material Property Reference Database additions shall be in XML format that validates against the schema defined in reference (c).
2.5The NPSI dataset's license files required in 3.4 shall be in contractor format.
3Content.The NPSI will contain the following information
3.1NPSI Final Dataset per reference (a) section 5.1.
3.1.1XML description of material properties used by the system as described in reference (a) section 2.1.8 and reference (c).
3.2NPSI Interim Dataset per reference (a) section 5.2.
3.3NPSI Metadata descriptions per reference (a) section 5.3.
3.3.1Metadata shall include references to all files, including legacy Government-Furnished Information (GFI) data not included in the NPSI datasets, used to build the database.
3.4The license files of the dataset shall include the following:
3.4.1The license agreement from the original license holder.
3.4.2The license agreement for any derivative work by the developer.A derivative work is a work based on preexisting works, such as any addition, improvement, update, modification, transformation, adaptation of a work.
3.4.3The point of contact for modifications to the licenses.
