The Contractor's Data Management Plan (CDMP) describes the structured Contractor approach and proposed plan for data management (DM) throughout the structured lifecycle. To include, but not limited to: Management, organization, planning, assignment of functions, duties and responsibilities, procedures and policies, and reporting requirements for the conduct of contractually-imposed tasks, projects or programs that apply to the management of data.
a. This Data Item Description (DID) shall be used in contracts when delivery of a CDMP is required by the Government.
b. This DID contains the format, content, and intended use information for the data deliverable resulting from the work task described in the solicitation.
Preparation Instructions
1Reference documents.None.
2Format.The CDMP is acceptable in the Contractor's format.
3Content.The CDMP shall include the following:
3.1Scope and Depth of Contractor Efforts.Include Contractor management, organization, planning, and relationship of the Contractor's DM program to other administrative and technical organizations; include efforts with the Government.
3.2Contractor's Management Policies.Identified by specific reference, standard practices, and detailed work instructions the Contractor will use when implementing the DM program.
3.3Preliminary Data Submittal Schedule.Include information in the schedule for fulfilling submission of data, specific quantities, media, and due dates in accordance with the contract requirements/DD Form 1423, Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRL). (Copies of this form are available online at http://www.esd.whs.mil/Directives/forms/.)
3.4Preparation Instructions.Utilize the outline below. Sub-divide the outline when additional definition is required. Special requirements requiring further explanation shall be included.
