The Ammunition Data Card is a record that documents essential historical information pertaining to the build of a production component lot or an end item lot of ammunition, explosive material or a serially numbered guided missile which contains all required data pertaining to each lot of the item. The Ammunition Data Card is used to provide traceability of explosive and non explosive end items, assemblies, sub-assemblies and component parts as mandated by contract requirements.

a. The data contained in this DID is required by MIL-STD-1168 'Ammunition Lot Numbering and Ammunition Data Card'.

b. This DID supersedes DI-MISC-80043A which is no longer applicable.

Preparation Instructions

1Reference documents.The applicable issue of documents cited herein, including their approval dates, and dates of any applicable amendments, notices and revisions shall be as cited in the current issue of the DODISS at the time of the solicitation; or, for non DODISS-listed documents, as stated herein.

2Preparation and Format.Manufacturer's Identification Symbols used in lot numbering must be registered per MIL-HDBK-1461 'Ammunition Manufacturers and Their Symbols'. Ammunition Data Cards shall be prepared in the World-Wide Ammunition Data Repository Program (WARP) in accordance with the requirements of MIL-STD-1168 and the on-line WARP User's Manual.
