These operation and maintenance instructions provide government personnel the necessary operating, diagnostic, and repair procedures for using and maintaining R&D equipment supporting test assets.
a. This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirements as delineated in the contract.
b. This DID is applicable only to R&D equipment not destined for the Air Force inventory.
c. This DID supersedes DI-MISC-81414.
Preparation Instructions
1Format.The Operation and Maintenance Instructions for Research and Development (R&D) Equipment shall be in the contractor's format.
2Content.The content shall be sufficient for technicians to operate the equipment and repair and replace components. The content shall include the following:
2.1Complete operation and calibration instructions including safety hazards, if any.
2.2Theory of operation, diagnostic tests, repair, and preventive maintenance.
2.3Illustrations, diagrams, and schematics necessary to show interconnections between unit and associated equipment and assembly and installation of the unit and its components.
2.4A parts list including commercial part numbers.
2.5A test point list with normal voltages, currents, and waveforms.
2.6A list of referenced documents or illustrations.
