The Computer Program Identification Number (CPIN) Catalog Information is used for the assignment of a CPIN for embedded computer system software. The CPIN is used by the Government for configuration management of software and to facilitate software distribution. The Enhanced Technical Information Management System (ETIMS) is the standard Air Force system used for the assignment and management of CPINs.

a. This Data Item Description (DID) is applicable to software development for all weapon systems.

b. This DID contains the format, content, and intended use information for the data deliverable resulting from the work task described in the contract.

c. This DID supersedes DI-MISC-81454C and changes the title from Automated Computer Program Identification Number (ACPIN) Data and Control Record.

Preparation Instructions

1Reference documents.The applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.

2Format.The CPIN Catalog Information shall be formatted in accordance with the CPIN Assignment/Change Request Worksheet per Appendix B of Technical Order (TO) 00-5-16, Methods and Procedures, Computer Program Identification Number (CPIN) Management. 3Content.The CPIN Catalog Information shall contain the following:
