A Notification of Test or Trials identifies testing or trial activities, including timing and location, so the Government can plan to witness testing or appoint a Trials Board for underway trials.

Use & Relationship
A Notification of Test will be used to identify testing to be performed, and when and where testing will be performed. This notification allows the Government to plan for the witnessing of selected testing. When used as a Notification of Trial, it provides the contractor's proposed dates for a craft trial. For an Underway Trial, the Notification allows NAVSEA the time to appoint a Trials Board.
a. This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task required as delineated in the contract.
Preparation Instructions
1Format.The Notification of Test and the Notification of Trials shall be in the Contractor's format.
2.1The Notification of Test shall contain the following:
2.1.2Test procedures to be performed (More than one test procedure may appear on each notification)
2.1.3Location of each test
2.1.4Date and time for each test
2.1.5Responsible test director/conductor for each test
2.1.6Date and time for each test
2.1.7Contractor and recommended Government personnel to be in attendance
2.1.8Estimate of the length of time that the Government support services will be required.
2.2The Notification of Trials shall contain the following:

2.2.4Location of the craft
2.2.5Proposed trial dates (start and end)
