To provide detailed revised or additional technical data for inclusion in existing Government specification or commercial, publication, pertaining to a specific System, equipment, or component affected by any approved addition, deletion or change.
This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for each technical data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement as delineated in the contract.
Used when structural, mechanical or electrical configuration changes occur or when any process of procedure concerning the manufacture, assembly, installation, operation, maintenance, repair and logistic support of the system, equipment or component requires additional explanation.
This DID supersedes DI-TMSS-81709.

Preparation Instructions
1Reference document.The applicable issue of the document cited herein, including its approval date and dates of any applicable amendments and revisions, shall be as stated herein. No documents are referenced at this time. If needed, additional guidance is available at the National Security Agency, Acquisition Logistics and Deployment Review, 9800 Savage Road, Suite 6653, Fort Meade, Md. 20755-6653, Attn: B81.
2.1Government specification manuals.Revised or additional data shall be submitted in accordance with the purchasing organizations internal technical writing standards or best business practices.
2.2Commercial manuals.Revised or additional data shall be submitted in the same format as the existing manual or best business practices.
3Content.Revised or additional data shall contain, as applicable, those changes, notices or replacement pages consisting of all test, tables, lists, charts, graphs, photographs, drawings, diagrams and schematics necessary to thoroughly and accurately reflect each approved addition, deletion or change to existing documents.
