This Data Item Description (DID) specifies the content and format for submitting the Specialized Reusable Container Design Drawings.
Preparation Instructions
1Reference documents.The applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.

2Content.A Product Level TDP shall be delivered for the government-approved specialized reusable container design candidate. The TDP shall include engineering analysis and fully defined product definition. At a minimum, each TDP shall include the following data elements:
2.2Material construction and surface finish of item
2.3Item fragility factor (G's) in shipping/non-operational mode
2.4Mounting or hard points
2.5Special shipping requirements, e.g. attitude, hazardous material, electrostatic discharge sensitivity, protection against emitting or receiving electromagnetic forces, corrosion, controlled temperature, etc.
2.6Physical characteristics (length, width, height, weight, fragility, center of gravity, moments of inertia, lifting features, etc.)
2.7Identification and modeling of specialized handling or support equipment needed for installation or removal, as applicable
2.8Finite element analysis (FEA) or calculations
2.9Part numbers and, if applicable, serial numbers
2.10Text documents (narrative or procedural info, as applicable)
3Format.TDP deliverable format is Native 3D models, 3D neutral files (STEP) and 3Di pdf for each TDP. Contractor shall confirm all neutral files are compatible with the following formats: IGES format (.igs, .iges) and STEP format (.stp, .step). 3Di formatting shall address title block, parts list, notes per ASME Y14.100 series of standards and MIL-STD-31000. Refer to MIL-STD-31000 Appendix B for 3Di sample PDF format. Product Drawings/Models and Associated Lists in Native Format shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-31000 paragraph 5.4.1.3. Company standards are not approved; all standards specified shall be industry and/or military standards.
