The Planned Maintenance System (PMS) Quality Assurance (QA) Check Sheet provides the minimum record-keeping requirements for the developing activity to administer a quality assurance program, thereby ensuring the quality, technical accuracy, composition and graphic quality are consistent with applicable technical instructions.

This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format, content, preparation instructions and intended use information for the data product resulting from the work task described in Appendix C of MIL-STD-3034A.

This DID is related to DI-PSSS-80986B, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) Maintenance Requirement Index (MRI); DI-PSSS-80991B, Planned Maintenance System (PMS) Maintenance Requirement Card (MRC); DI-PSSS-80992B, Planned Maintenance System (PMS) Maintenance Index Page (MIP).

This DID supersedes DI-MNTY-80993.

Preparation Instructions

1Reference Documents.The applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.
2Format.The PMS QA Check Sheet shall be in a format similar to that of the sample form of Figure 1 of this DID.
3Content.The PMS QA Check Sheet shall contain all of the information specified in the sample form of Figure 1 of this DID and as specified in MIL-STD-3034A, Appendix C.
3.1System/Equipment.Enter the nomenclature of the system, subsystem, equipment, as applicable.
3.2MIP Series.Enter the Maintenance Index Page (MIP) series identification.
3.3MRC Number.Enter the identification number of the applicable MRC.
3.4Checked By Column.Enter the initials of the personnel performing the quality assurance check for each item of documentation that was inspected in 4 below.
3.5Date Column.Enter the date each item of documentation which was inspected by the personnel performing the quality assurance check in 4 below.
4Quality Assurance Checks.The following quality assurance checks, as specified in the sample form of Figure 1 of this DID concern MIL-STD-3034A procedure areas:

4.6M/H areaM/H area is properly filled in as specified in MIL-STD-3034A, paragraph 5.1.10.2.o.
4.7Preliminary timePreliminary time is included in M/H area as specified in MIL-STD-3034A, paragraph 5.1.10.2.o.
4.8Total M/H and Elapsed Time areasTotal M/H and Elapsed Time areas are correctly computed and filled in as specified in MIL-STD-3034A, paragraphs 5.1.10.2.p and 5.1.10.2.q, respectively.
4.9MR Description areaMR Description area is properly filled in (complete sentence, second person imperative, and beginning with an action verb) as specified in MIL-STD-3034A, paragraph 5.1.10.2.l and C.8.
4.10Safety Precautions areaSafety Precautions area is properly filled in (first precaution refers to a manual or instruction) as specified in MIL-STD-3034A, paragraph 5.1.10.2.m.
4.11All other specified warningsAll other specified warnings in Safety Precautions area are in the same order in which they appear in the procedure block as specified in MIL-STD-3034A, paragraph 5.1.10.2.m.(1).
4.12Cautions do not appearCautions do not appear in Safety Precautions area as specified in MIL-STD-3034A, paragraph C.3.11.b.
4.13For submarine applicationsFor submarine applications, Safety Precautions area contains re-entry control statement as required as specified in MIL-STD-3034A, paragraph 5.1.10.2.m.(4) and 5.1.10.2.r.(7).
