The Cataloging Report is a listing of all system and non-system training aids, devices, simulators, and simulations (TADSS) component parts that do not have a National Stock Number (NSN) or Management Control Number (MCN) assigned, and that require cataloging by the Government. The data in the report allows the Government to obtain syndicated Manufacturer's Part (MANP) numbers to facilitate the cataloging of TADSS in Army and Federal Logistics Information Systems. The format outlines the structure of the data that will give the Government the ability to import the Cataloging Report into Department of Defense (DoD) databases for cataloging.
This DID contains the format, content, and intended use information for the data deliverable resulting from the work task described in the solicitation.
This DID may be applied in any contract, which contains a requirement for the cataloging of TADSS components.
Preparation Instructions
1Reference Documents.None.
2Format.The TADSS Cataloging Report shall be formatted in accordance with the Cataloging Report Template in Figure 1.
3Content.The TADSS Cataloging Report shall include the following fields and information:
3.1Manufacturer Part Number:The Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM's) part number, not to exceed 32 characters, shall be provided for all items.
3.2Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code:OEM CAGE code shall be provided for all items. A CAGE Code is a unique identifier assigned to suppliers to United States Government and DoD agencies.
3.3Manufacturer Name:The OEM name shall be listed, as identified by the CAGE Code, for all items.
3.4Nomenclature:Common name of the item, not to exceed 19 characters in length, shall be provided for all items.
3.5Price:The non-burdened procurement or commercial cost of each item shall be provided.
3.6Accounting Requirements Code (ARC):The ARC is a 1-position, alphabetic code that identifies the level of accounting required for an item of supply once it is issued. One of the following three ARCs shall be specified for each item:
3.6.1Nonexpendable (N):Nonexpendable property is not consumed in use and retains its original identity during the period of use, as determined by the Government. Nonexpendable property requires formal accountability throughout the life of the item.
3.6.2Durable (D):Durable property is not consumed in use and does not require property book accountability, but, because of its unique characteristics, requires control when issued to the user, as determined by the Government.
3.6.3Expendable (X):Expendable property is consumed in use, or loses its identity in use, as determined by the Government. It includes items not consumed in use, with a unit cost of less than $500, and having a Controlled Inventory Item Code (CIIC) of Unclassified "U" assigned, as determined by the Government. The following classes or types of property shall be classified as expendable:
3.6.3.1Supplies consumed in the maintenance and upkeep of public service.Examples are oil, paint, fuel, and cleaning and preserving materials.
3.6.3.2Supplies that lose their identity when used to repair or complete other items.Examples are assemblies, repair parts, and accessories.
3.6.3.3Supplies consumed by Government activities in the manufacturing, testing, sampling, or for experimental purposes.
3.7Fielding Date:Date the equipment is scheduled to be delivered to the final Government user shall be provided.
