Use & Relationship
Product Support Analysis is the analysis required to create the package of support functions required to field and maintain the readiness and operational capability of major weapon systems, subsystems, and components, including all functions related to weapon system readiness. All functionally significant items, systems, equipment, components, will be subject to Product Support Analysis. All Product Support Analysis Candidates are assigned a Product Support Analysis Control Number in order to index and identify all of the Functionally Significant Items undergoing Product Support Analysis.
The product support package includes the array of product support functions required to deploy and maintain the readiness and operational capability of major weapon systems, subsystems, and components, including all functions related to weapon systems readiness. The package of product support functions includes the tasks associated with the 12 Integrated Product Support Elements.
MIL-HDBK-502A, Department of Defense Handbook: Product Support Analysis shall be used as a guide for executing Product Support Analysis activities and repeat Product Support Analysis tasks in an iterative manner as required and identify refine product support requirements. The Product Support Analysis data shall be updated to reflect changes in support requirements.
This Data Item Description contains the format, content, and intended use information for the data deliverable resulting from the work task described in the solicitation.
