Use & Relationship
The Maintenance Training Material shall be used for training of the personnel responsible for the calibration, repair and restoration of equipment procured by the program office. The Maintenance Training material will be used by the Government to develop instructional material for the initial qualification and continuing training of technicians.
This DID contains the format, content, and intended use information for the data product resulting from the work task described in the contract SOW.
Preparation Instructions
1Format.The Maintenance Training Material shall be in contractor format.
2.1Training material shall include an Instructor Guide, Presentation Material for use as a training aid and a Student Guide.
2.2Each document shall include a cover page that contains the following information:
2.2.3Training Document Type
2.2.4The activity the training was prepared for
2.2.5The name of the vendor who prepared the training
2.2.7Distribution Statement, Destruction Notices and Export Control Notices as applicable
2.3Each document shall include a Table of Contents and List of References.
2.4The training shall cover the following topic areas at a minimum:
2.4.1Equipment description, functions and specifications
2.4.3Operating instructions
2.4.4Tools, equipment, and software necessary to perform maintenance and calibration
2.4.5Equipment calibration procedure
2.4.6Equipment troubleshooting procedures
2.4.7Component replacement and repair procedures
2.5Instructor led hands on practical lessonsThe training shall include instructor led hands on practical lessons covering the troubleshooting, disassembly and reassembly of the instrument and replacement of components. Where practical, faults will be introduced to replicate potential failures technicians or equipment user may encounter during normal operation and maintenance.
2.6The Instructor GuideThe Instructor Guide shall include objectives, a course outline, lesson plan(s) to guide the instructor through the presentation material, instructor discussion points that complement the presentation materials, and questions and answers to conduct knowledge checks to assess student understanding at the end of each topic area. The Instructor Guide shall also include detailed instructions for conducting the hands on practical exercises.
2.7The Presentation MaterialThe Presentation Material shall include objectives and the text, diagrams, tables, pictures, drawings and other elements necessary to adequately cover the topic areas from paragraph 2.4.
2.7.1Drawings, pictures and diagrams shall include labels to identify key components.
2.7.2Tables shall include column and row headings.
2.7.3Legends shall be included to describe labels, symbols and color coding as appropriate.
2.8The student guideThe student guide shall include objectives, a course outline, a reproduction of training presentation materials, areas for student note taking, and tasks sheets describing the hands on tasks that accompany the course.
