The National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) Assessments Reports and accompanying documentation will be used by the Government to develop the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) Management System. A Management System is required in order to comply with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025 Section 8.

This Data Item Description (DID) is applicable to dosimetry contracts that require Assessment Reports prior to delivery. This DID is consistent with ISO 17025 as this document contains the requirements for National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) accreditation.

This DID contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the discrete Contract Line items as delineated in the contract Statement of Work.

2.1Assessment narratives, checklists and National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) correspondenceare per National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Programs (NVLAP) format.

2.2Comment and non-conformity resolution documentationshall be in the contractor's format.

3ContentThe National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) Assessment Reports shall contain the following content:

3.1The assessment reportshall consist of any narrative, checklists, and comment and non-conformity resolution.

3.2Resolutionswill include all response, feedback and decisions by National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) related to the comment or non-conformity.

3.3Comment and non-conformity resolution documentation for dosimetry systems unrelated to the system selected by the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP)do not require provision.
