Description & Purpose

A test elements list provides a listing of functions, characteristics, or interfaces that may be verified or demonstrated through testing. Test elements lists are generated as an integral part of the engineering process for test procedure development described by DOD-STD-2106(NAVY).

Application & Interrelationship

This Data Item Description (DID) describes data required by 5.2.4.2 and 5.2.6 of DOD-STD-2106(NAVY).

When applied in contracts, this DID should be tailored to the specific test elements required for the list by citing 10.3.1 or 10.3.2 below in the DD Form 1423.

Preparation Instructions

10.1Source document.The applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval date, and dates of any applicable amendments and revisions shall be reflected in the contract.

10.2Format.The test elements list shall be typed in the contractor's format on 8 1/2 by 11-inch (metric size A4) white bond paper.

10.3Content.

10.3.1Test elements (other test stages).Test elements that are recommended for testing in stages which are outside of the contractor's cognizance shall be listed in accordance with the requirements of 5.2.4.2 of DOD-STD-2106(NAVY).

10.3.2Test elements (nonredundant).Nonredundant test elements which are the basis for the contractor's test outlines and test procedures shall be listed in accordance with the requirements of 5.2.6 of DOD-STD-2106(NAVY).
