Use & Relationship
a. The Quality Engineering Acceptance Inspection Requirements and Equipment List identifies areas where documentation is available, and where it must yet be prepared.
b. This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement delineated in the contract.
c. Quality Engineering Inspection Requirements and Equipment List is applicable to contracts that specify the requirement for Government monitoring of the contractor's technical documentation effort.
d. It also identifies required or existing Quality Assurance Provisions (QAP), or existing supplementary Quality Assurance Provisions (SQAP) as well as the Special Inspection Equipment (SIE) needed for build and rebuild of hardware.
e. This list provides the status of quality engineering documentation to plan work, and to cross index the quality engineering documentation to the design engineering documentation.
f. This DID may be used when the provisions of ISO9001 apply to the contract. This document may be obtained from www.iso.org
Preparation Instructions
1Content.The Quality Engineering Inspection Requirements and Equipment List shall be in the following format and contain the data as shown. Data shall be indexed by generation breakdown and hardware drawing number sequence. Data shall include a cross-reference index for acceptance of rebuild in the contractor's plant or depot (when required).
1.1NumberPart or assembly number
1.2NomenclatureName of part or assembly
1.3LevelThe generation breakdown of the part or assembly (Major End Items "1")
1.4End Item CodeThe End Item Code of the part or assembly.
1.5QAP (see Table 1)The source of inspection engineering requirements and preproduction (environmental) criteria.
1.6Spec No.A number in parenthesis indicates it is scheduled but has not been released.
1.7QAP"QAP" Requirement indicates the need for a QAP and the QAP number in parenthesis indicates an unvalidated QAP.
1.8Rev.QAP revision level released. (# indicates new release).
1.9SIE or CommercialSIE Test Equipment Number used in the performance of a QAP or around which a QAP should be written. Identify rebuild or depot test equipment when different from build test equipment.
1.10P/PCIPreproduction/Production comparison inspection is contained in QAP.
1.11LETLimited Environmental Test contained in QAP.
1.12SQEStorage Quality Evaluation contained in QAP.
1.13Supply SourceThe present source of supply is indicated in this column as follows: C - Company S - Subcontractor of company V - Vendor/supplier of company G - Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) O - Other.
1.14Spare*"Y" - Yes, can be provisioned as a Spare as it has adequate QAP, engineering requirements and provision for test Equipment. "N" - No, does not have adequate QAP, or Engineering Requirements to be Provisioned as a spare Special Inspection Equipment is not feasible due to cost or other reason.
1.15Notes (See Table 2)Notes referenced by Code Letter in this column are Listed in Table 2.
1.16Change Identification"A" - Item added since last revision. "C" - Indicates a change since the last revision.
1.17Item (n) is not to be used as spares provisioning list. When approved by the Government Product Assurance element, this coding input to the spares provisioning conferences.
