Description & Purpose

3.1 The Calibration System Description defines the contractor's system for the calibration of all measuring and test equipment used in fulfilling contractual requirements.

3.2 The description is used as documentation of the contractor's calibration system.

Application & Interrelationship

7.1 This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the Calibration System Description resulting from the work task described by 5.1 of MIL-STD-45662.

7.2 This DID is related to DI-CMAN-80787, "Special Inspection Equipment Calibration Procedures".

7.3 This DID supersedes DI-R-7064.

Preparation Instructions

10.1Format.The Calibration System Description format shall be contractor selected. Unless effective presentation would be degraded, the initially used format arrangement shall be used for all subsequent submissions.

10.2Content.The Calibration System Description shall contain the following:

10.2.1Calibration intervals and sources for test and measurement equipment.

10.2.2Applicable reference measurement standards, and transfer measurement standards.

10.2.3Nomenclature, identification number, calibration interval and source for measurement standards.

10.2.4Environmental conditions under which the measurement standards will be applied and calibrated.
