Description & Purpose
3.1 This plan describes how the contractor will conduct safety studies to achieve the safety requirements set forth in the specifications.
3.2 This plan is the basis for the contractor's entire safety effort and provides assurance to the procuring activity that all hazards associated with the equipment are identified and eliminated or controlled by engineering design.
Application & Interrelationship
7.1 This Data Item Description contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement as delineated in the contract.
7.2 This DID supersedes UDI-H-23386.
7.3 This DID is to be used in conjunction with DI-SAFT-81065.
7.4 NAVSEAINSTR 8020.6 may be obtained from Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, Attn: Code 09P21, Washington, DC 20362.
Preparation Instructions
10.1Reference documentsThe applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.
10.2FormatThe Safety Studies Plan shall be typed in the contractor's format on 8 1/2" by 11" sheets.
10.3ContentsThe Safety Study Plan shall contain a complete description of the effort planned to identify hazards associated with the subsystems and components in accordance with the latest version of NAVSEAINST 8020.6; Navy Weapon System Safety Program. Specifically, the plan shall contain:
