Description & Purpose

This data comprises the test and inspection conditions and results of the bullet impact test. It is used to evaluate the response of a test item being struck by a given energy source, i.e., a bullet.

Application & Interrelationship

This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for data generated by the bullet impact test of MIL-STD-2105.

The following DID is used in conjunction with this DID and applies only if listed on the DD Form 1423 incorporated into the contract:

Preparation Instructions

10.1FormatThe bullet impact test data shall be formatted in accordance with figures 1, 2 and 3.
10.2ContentThe bullet impact test data shall include the information of figures 1, 2 and 3 and the following:
10.2.1Location and identification of the post-test remainsLocation and identification of the post-test remains depicted onto figure 2.
10.2.2Description, location, dimensions and weight of the post-test remainsDescription, location (linear and angular distance from original test position), dimensions and weight of the post-test remains tabulated onto figure 3.
