Description & Purpose

This data comprises the test and inspection conditions and results of the sympathetic detonation test. It is used to evaluate the response of test item(s) subjected to proximate detonation of a like item.

Application & Interrelationship

This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for data generated by the sympathetic detonation test of MIL-STD-2105.

The following DID is used in conjunction with this DID and applies only if listed on the DD Form 1423 incorporated into the contract:

Preparation Instructions

10.1FormatThe sympathetic detonation test data shall be formatted in accordance with figures 1, 2 and 3.
10.2ContentThe sympathetic detonation test data shall include the information of figures 1, 2 and 3 and the following:
10.2.1A dimensioned sketch depicting the pre-initiation donorA dimensioned sketch depicting the pre-initiation donor and acceptor relative locations.
10.2.2Location and identification of the post-testLocation and identification of the post-test remains depicted onto figure 2.
10.2.3Description, location (linear and angular distance from original test position)dimensions and weight of the post-test remains tabulated onto figure 3.
