Description & Purpose

A Federal Standard is a document that establishes engineering and technical requirements for processes, procedures, practices and methods that have been adopted as standard. The document also establishes requirements for selection, application and design criteria for material. This document is issued or controlled by the General Services Administration (GSA).

Application & Interrelationship

This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement as delineated in the contract. The Federal Property Management Regulations (FPMR) Handbook 101-29 is available from General Services Administration, Federal Supply Service, Washington, DC 20046.

1Reference documentsThe applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices and revisions shall be as specified in the contract.

2FormatThe Federal Standard format shall be in accordance with the guidelines of chapter 6 of FPMR Handbook 101-29.

3ContentThe Federal Standard shall contain data as required by the guidelines stated in chapter 6 of FPMR Handbook 101-29.
