a. This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and preparation instructions for the QAP resulting from the work task described by MIL-STD-31000A, paragraph 5.3.3.10.

b. The DID requirements herein apply to all contracts containing tasks for engineering and manufacturing development or production.

c. Product drawings/models containing characteristics that are classified as critical, major or minor in accordance with DOD-STD-2101 should have QAP.

d. This DID supersedes DI-CMAN-80789.

Preparation Instructions

1Format.The form and format of the QAP shall be as delineated in the Statement of Work.

2Content.The QAP shall meet the requirements of MIL-STD-31000A and the applicable TDP Option Selection Worksheet (including tailoring) incorporated in the solicitation, contract, or purchase order.
