The Required Manufacturing Process Description Approval Request identifies manufacturing processes which are proposed for inclusion in the Technical Data Package (TDP) as mandatory to meet the engineering requirements of the item or a component part thereof for which the TDP is being prepared.
a. This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data resulting from the work task described by 5.14.4 of MIL-STD-31000.
b. This DID is applicable to acquisitions in which the Government intends to retain approval authority over designating manufacturing processes as mandatory.
c. This DID supersedes DI-SESS-81012F and is related to DI-SESS-81000F.
Preparation Instructions
1Reference documentsThe applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.
2GeneralThe RMPD Approval Request shall meet the requirements of MIL-STD-31000.
3FormatThe RMPD Approval Request shall be in the contractor's format.
4ContentThe RMPD Approval Request shall include as applicable:
4.1Contractor's name, address and CAGE Code
4.3Item nomenclature and part number to which the proposed process applies
4.4Drawing number or specification number which defines the process in detail
4.5An explanation as to why the process should be considered required or mandatory to the manufacture of the item or part
4.6A statement as to whether the process or portions thereof are considered contractor proprietary and the status of Government rights in technical data
