Aircraft Logbooks and Aeronautical Equipment Records are utilized to document the service history of the aircraft and aeronautical equipment being procured. This Data Item Description (DID) allows for the tailoring of service or technical data to be included in an aircraft logbook or an aeronautical equipment record. This DID is applied to delivery of the aircraft and aeronautical equipment being procured. These records are prescribed for use with aircraft and aeronautical equipment (e.g., aircraft power plants, propellers, airborne auxiliary power units and other appropriate items of airborne equipment).
This DID contains the format, content, and intended use information for the data deliverable resulting from the work task described in the contract.
This DID supersedes DI-MNTY-81067.

Aircraft Logbooks and Aeronautical Equipment Record forms shall be procured from the Navy Supply System in accordance with procedures specified in NAVSUP Publication 2002.

1Reference DocumentsThe applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be specified in the contract.
2FormatThe Aircraft Logbook and Related Aeronautical equipment records shall be prepared in accordance with OPNAVINST 4790.2E.
