The Instructional Design Documentation (IDD) will be used to define the course objective, module objectives, desired learning outcomes, measurement methods, and design issues for the course.

This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement as delineated in the contract.

Preparation Instructions

1Reference documentsThe applicable issue of this document cited herein, including its approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.

2FormatThe IDD shall be in contractor format.

3ContentThe IDD shall contain the following:

3.1PurposeThe purpose of the course, summary of any applicable background and purpose information relative to the IDD itself.

3.2OverviewAn overview of the desired target audience. The target audience shall also include any suggested job categories, organizations, experience levels, grades, ranks, pre-requisite courses attended, and functional areas.

3.3A list of all pertinent team membersIn the course development effort, including names, organizations and method(s) for contacting each.

3.4An overview on how the contractor intendsTo follow the government's Instructional Systems Design process specified in the contract.

3.5Identification of the government Subject Matter Expert(s)

3.6A list of the course objectivesIndividual module objectives and the method for achieving each.

3.7Method for measuring/assessing the learner's accomplishment

3.8A high level course outline shall be includedThe outline shall define each module title and each major section title within that module.

3.9Describe the web-based architecture that applies for this courseThe architecture shall show the major connections/functions that begin with the User's Desktop and flow through to the completed course being properly documented in the registrar's files.
