The Specification Tree defines hierarchical and inter-relationship of the specifications for the system. The Specification Tree will be used to graphically depict the various Government and Contractor specifications that will be developed as part of the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process.
This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format, content, and intended use information for the data product resulting from the work task described by the contract statement of work.
Preparation Instructions
1Reference documentsThe applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.
2FormatContractor format acceptable and may be depicted in a format similar to Figure 1 example.
3ContentThe specification tree shall contain the following:
3.1Title of specification
3.2Name of Government agency or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)Name of Government agency or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) developing the specification.
3.3The Government system specificationThe Government system specification provided as part of a contract will be at the top of the hierarchical order of the specification tree.
3.4The SETR event and BaselineIdentify the SETR event and Baseline each specification pertains to. The SETR events include Systems Requirements Review 2 (SRR-2), System Functional Review (SFR), Software Specification Review (SSR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR).
3.4.1The Requirements BaselineIdentify the specifications for the Requirements Baseline at the completion of SRR-2.
3.4.2The Functional BaselineIdentify the specifications and architecture products for the Functional Baseline at the completion of SFR.
3.4.3The Software portion of the Allocated BaselineIdentify the specifications for the Software portion of the Allocated Baseline upon completion of the SSR.
3.4.4The Allocated BaselineIdentify the specifications for the Allocated Baseline at the completion of PDR.
3.4.5The Product BaselineIdentify the specifications and drawings for the Product Baseline at the completion of CDR.
3.5Other specificationsIdentify other specifications as provided by the Government as Government Furnished Information.
