The O&M Impact Estimate is used to assess the long-term affordability of new systems, and to assist in budgeting activities and reallocation of resources. The O&M Impact Estimate quantifies the projected impact of a change in range capabilities, due to an addition or removal of equipment, alteration of operating hours, or any other proposed modification to the baseline range capabilities defined in the contract.
This data item description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement as delineated in the contract.
Preparation Instructions
1FormatThe O&M Impact Estimate shall be in contractor's format.
2ContentThe O&M Impact Estimate shall include the following:
2.1Estimated annual labor hours for each position impactedwith separate estimates for preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and operation.
2.2Estimated annual material costs
2.3Estimated annual Other Direct Costs (ODC)
2.4A brief justification for the estimates
2.5A list of all references (i.e., tasking, e-mail, SRR minutes, Logistics Plan, etc.)that were used to establish the scope of the change.
2.6The estimate shall also include informationabout multiple related systems when applicable. For example, information in this section could provide an explanation for a proposed reduction in an existing capability to offset increased costs related to a new capability.
