The Photographic Requirements are used to provide the procuring activity with documented photographs demonstrating the required markings for the bare buoy, Sonobuoy Launch Container (SLC), CNU-239/E Shipping and Storage Container, and Pallet in the associated views as required below.
This Data Item Description (DID) contains format, content, and intended use information for the data deliverable resulting from the work task described in the contract.
Preparation Instructions

2.1The photographs described in succeeding paragraphsshall be exact representations of the production markings for the subject contract and shall be a resolution not less than 96 dpi. All marking shall be complete to include Naval Ammunition Logistics Code (NALC), National Item Identification Number (NIIN) or National Stock Number (NSN), Packing Date, etc. Multiple views may be incorporated into a single photograph, provided the marking in each view is easily discernible.
3.1Sonobuoy, Sonobuoy Launch Container (SLC) and CNU239/E Shipping and Storage Container (when required) circumferential marking (2 views)each shall show the entire length of the sonobuoy, SLC and Shipping and Storage Container standing on end. Each view shall show a 180 degree segment of the sonobuoy, SLC, and Shipping and Storage Container oriented in such a manner as to best depict the marking.
3.2Sonobuoy, SLC and CNU-239/E Shipping and Storage Container (when required) end markingeach view shall show an end that is marked. Orientation shall be such that the marking is readable. SLC shall be shown with end cap in place.
3.3Pallet Markingeach view shall show a pallet side that is marked. Orientation shall be such that marking is readable. The views may be shown in one or more photographs.
3.4Written descriptions of each photograph to includeitem nomenclature, contractor's name and contract number.
