The Data Management Plan (DMP) describes the organization's processes, procedures, and controls within the DM program. The principal use is to provide the Government a basis for review, evaluation, and monitoring of the DM program and associated future workings.
This DID contains the format, content, and intended use information for the data product resulting from the work task described in GEIA-859 and the principles of GEIA-859-HB (Copies of these standards are available online at www.sae.org or from SAE International, 400 Commonwealth Drive, Warrendale, PA 15096-0001, Tel 877-606-7323 [inside USA and Canada] or 724-776-4970 [outside USA]).
Preparation Instructions
1Reference DocumentsThe applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.
2FormatThe Data Management Plan shall be in contractor's format unless otherwise specified in the contract.
3ContentThe DMP shall identify the processes and procedures for:
3.1Data management and planning over the life cycle of a product
3.1.1Identify Configuration Status Accounting/Integrated Digital Environment (IDE) tools
3.1.2Data security and access processes/permissions
3.1.4Data protection and storage
3.1.5Physical Handling and Electronic Media (*transportation/delivery of media/receipt and storage)
3.2Data identification throughout the product lifecycle
3.2.1Data classifications (Class/CUI)
3.2.2Unique data document part number assignments
3.2.3Data assertion rights
3.3Data management encompasses record control and documentation of the product record and its metadata information to the product's end of life
3.3.1Digital Model Data version control
3.3.2Change management control processes
3.3.3Quality Assurance procedures
3.4Establish and maintain a management process for intellectual property, proprietary information, sensitive data, and data rights
3.5Validation of record information establishment and maintenance in the execution of the total data from inception to disposal
