Use & Relationship
The Trainer Criteria Report (TCR) provides criteria and criteria sources to verify the fidelity of the modeling and simulation used by the trainer to simulate the physical systems and characteristics of the aircraft and its environment.
This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format, content, and intended use information for the data deliverable resulting from the work task described in the solicitation.
Preparation Instructions
1Reference DocumentsThe applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.
2FormatThis DID contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated.
3ContentThe report shall contain the following:
3.1Section 1.0 ScopeThis section shall include a purpose and introduction. The introduction shall summarize the contents of the report.
3.2Section 2.0 Applicable DocumentsThis section shall identify all documents that are cited in the TCR but not specifically referenced as a criteria data source.
3.3Section 3.0 RequirementsThis section shall contain the criteria data organized into the following sections:
3.3.1Aircraft Performance and Flying QualitiesThis section shall contain specific test categories which describe the performance and flying qualities characteristics of the aircraft in terms of the quantities to be measured during the test program. Included in each category shall be a list of the specific tests, description of test techniques, test criteria data, data sources, and applicable tolerances.
Test criteria data should include a summary of flight conditions, data plots, tables and charts. Data plots and tables may be placed in an appendix if numerous, but data summaries shall be included in the body of the report.
Sources of all criteria data shall be listed including airframe, engine, and equipment manufacturers, and whether Government furnished or otherwise. The data transmittal documents or publications shall be cited. Sources of input data such as aerodynamic coefficients, engine characteristics and the like from airframe and engine manufacturers and other organizations shall be provided. In cases of conflicting data, an explanation shall be provided for the selection and use of one set of data rather than another.
Tolerances shall be listed in accordance with those cited in the contract specifications. The report shall include a description of how the tolerances are to be applied to the trainer criteria data.
3.3.2Aircraft Systems CriteriaThis section shall describe the specific system function to be simulated for each onboard aircraft system (i.e., airframe systems, propulsion systems, navigation). The description shall include associated crewstation controls and indicators, sources of design criteria, and malfunction chart(s). A malfunction chart shall list each required malfunction to be simulated, describe how it is to be initiated, describe aircraft indications to the extent observable by the trainee, and corrective action. This section shall contain a list of approved Engineering Change Proposals affecting the aircraft systems included in the simulation.
3.3.3Tactics Systems and Ownship Weapons CriteriaThis section shall contain a description of specific system functions to be simulated in the device for each onboard tactics system (i.e., sensor systems, electronic warfare, weapons flyout). These descriptions shall include associated crew station controls and indicators, sources of design criteria, and malfunction chart(s). Ownship weapons description shall include specific fidelity verification tests, description of test techniques used to obtain the data, test criteria data and data sources, and applicable tolerances.
3.3.4Simulated EnvironmentThis section shall describe associated test and design criteria for all models to simulate the environment in which the aircraft operates. These include atmospheric effects, floating platforms, surface facilities, tactical environment (include both computer driven and crew/instructor operated threats, if applicable), G-cueing, aural cues, visual cues, etc.
3.4AcronymsThis section shall list acronyms used in the report.
