A DoD Standard Practice Standard will be used to specify military unique design or functional criteria that must be adhered to in the development of systems, subsystems, equipment, assemblies, components, items, or parts. This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for DoD Standard Practice Standards and their associated documents that are described in the following paragraphs of MIL-STD-962. Only those documents listed below will be required when specified individually on contract. DoD Standard Practice Standard - Paragraphs 4.1 through 5.15. DoD Standard Practice Standard Revision - Paragraph 5.17. DoD Standard Practice Standard Change - Paragraphs 5.18 through 5.18.7. DoD Standard Practice Standard Inactive for New Design Notice - Paragraph 5.19.2. DoD Standard Practice Standard Cancellation Notice - Paragraph 5.19.3. DoD Standard Practice Standard Reinstatement Notice - Paragraph 5.19.4. DoD Standard Practice Standard Reactivation Notice - 5.19.5. DoD Standard Practice Standard Administrative Notice - Paragraph 5.19.6.
Preparation Instructions
1Reference DocumentsThe applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable notices and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.
2Format and Content for DoD Standard Practice Standards shall be as follows:
2.1DoD Standard Practice Standard. Format and content of DoD Standard Practice Standards shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraphs 4.1 through 5.15.
2.2DoD Standard Practice Standard Revision: Format and content of DoD Standard Practice Standard Revisions shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.17.
2.3DoD Standard Practice Standard Changes. Format and content of DoD Standard Practice Standard Changes shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraphs 5.18 through 5.18.7.
2.4DoD Standard Practice Standard Inactive for New Design Notices. Format and content of DoD Standard Practice Standard Inactive for New Design Notices shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.19.2.
2.5DoD Standard Practice Standard Cancellation Notices. Format and content of DoD Standard Practice Standard Cancellation Notices shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.19.3.
2.6DoD Standard Practice Standard Reinstatement Notices. Format and content of DoD Standard Practice Standard Reinstatement Notices shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.19.4.
2.7DoD Standard Practice Standard Reactivation Notices. Format and content of DoD Standard Practice Standard Reactivation Notices shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.19.5.
2.8DoD Standard Practice Standard Administrative Notices. Format and content of DoD Standard Practice Standard Administrative Notices shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.19.6.
