A DoD Manufacturing Process Standard will be used to specify military unique design or functional criteria that must be adhered to in the development of systems, subsystems, equipment, assemblies, components, items, or parts. This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for DoD Manufacturing Process Standards and their associated documents that are described in the following paragraphs of MIL-STD-962. Only those documents listed below will be required when specified individually on contract. a. DoD Manufacturing Process Standard – Paragraphs 4.1 through 5.15. b. DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Revision – Paragraph 5.17. c. DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Change – Paragraphs 5.18 through 5.18.7. d. DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Inactive for New Design Notice – Paragraph 5.19.2. e. DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Cancellation Notice – Paragraph 5.19.3. f. DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Reinstatement Notice – Paragraph 5.19.4. g. DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Reactivation Notice – 5.19.5. h. DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Administrative Notice – Paragraph 5.19.6.
Preparation Instructions
1Reference Documents:The applicable issue of the documents cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable notices and revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.
2Format and Content:Format and content for DoD Manufacturing Process Standards shall be as follows:
2.1DoD Manufacturing Process Standard.Format and content of DoD Manufacturing Process Standards shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraphs 4.1 through 5.15.
2.2DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Revision:Format and content of DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Revisions shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.17.
2.3DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Changes.Format and content of DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Changes shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraphs 5.18 through 5.18.7.
2.4DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Inactive for New Design Notices.Format and content of DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Inactive for New Design Notices shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.19.2.
2.5DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Cancellation Notices.Format and content of DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Cancellation Notices shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.19.3.
2.6DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Reinstatement Notices.Format and content of DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Reinstatement Notices shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.19.4.
2.7DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Reactivation Notices.Format and content of DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Reactivation Notices shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.19.5.
2.8DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Administrative Notices.Format and content of DoD Manufacturing Process Standard Administrative Notices shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-962, paragraph 5.19.6.
