The maintenance manual combines elements of a limited maintenance manual (Type I) and depot maintenance manual (Type II) into a single manual. It is generally used in lieu of manual Types I and II for minor units of equipment where there is no need for a separate limited maintenance manual (Type I).

This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement as delineated in the contract and paragraphs 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 4-2, and 5-3 of DS-56, Data Standard for the Preparation of INFOSEC Technical Manuals.
