The Technical Manual Validation Plan sets forth the schedule for contractor validation of instructions and procedures in technical manuals relating to installation, operation, assembly, disassembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for data generated under the work task described in the contract and Appendix C of NSA DS-56, Data Standard for the Preparation of INFOSEC Technical Manuals.

Preparation Instructions

1Reference DocumentThe applicable issue of the document cited herein, including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as stated herein. DS-56, Data Standard for the Preparation of INFOSEC Technical Manuals, current edition, is available at the National Security Agency, 9800 Savage Rd, Suite 6718, Fort Meade, Md. 20755-6718; Attn: I5222.

2FormatThe Technical Manual Validation Plan shall be in the contractor's format.

3ContentThe contractor shall provide a plan for each technical manual in accordance with Appendix C of NSA DS-56.
